The Borkum Riffgrund 1 offshore wind farm will be located 38 km North of the German island of Borkum.

The Borkum Riffgrund 1 Sandbank topside is designed as a multi-story steel structure with five decks, including a cellar deck positioned on the top of the jacket structure for cable pulling and cable hang-off. A helicopter deck is placed on the west side of the substation allowing for access by helicopter.

Located in a water depth of 24 meters, the topside is supported by a four legged jacket structure.

The detailed design is complete and the construction phase is now underway. ISC has been responsible for the detailed design of 6 substations for the German economic zone in the North Sea, including a substation for Nordsee Ost wind farm (RWE), Nordsee 1 wind farm or N1 (RWE) and Sandbank wind farm (Vattenfall).

With such a design portfolio, ISC has a unique experience in performing the design of substations for the German market and the German quality assurance and approval system under BSH for such installations.
