Generational change at ISC Consulting Engineers A/S

New CEO
At the turn of the year 2020 the founder of ISC, Kjeld Thomsen, has decided to resign his position as CEO at ISC after 53 years on the post. Kjeld is not leaving ISC completely as he will continue as a member of the ISC board of directors.

The CEO position is taken over by Anders Thomsen. Anders has a background as a civil engineer and an M.Sc. in Civil Engineering from the Technical University of Denmark (DTU) from 1993. Anders has been with ISC since 1998. For the last 15 years, Anders has been responsible for leading ISC’s offshore activities such as wind energy and the oil and gas area. Therefore, Anders holds unique and inbound knowledge about ISC’s business areas and the organization as a whole.

ISC Consulting Engineers A/S was founded in 1967 by Kjeld Thomsen. During the years Kjeld has managed to build up ISC from 3 employees till today counting more than 230 employees. Concurrently founding and leading ISC, Kjeld has also managed to write 33 bulletins. In connection to ISC’s 25th, 40th and 50th anniversaries Kjeld as written company books about ISC’s history.

Kjeld holds an M.Sc. in Civil Engineering from the Technical University of Denmark and graduated in 1960. He was later employed by DTU as a lector in courses such as bridge building and steel constructions. In connection with his teaching years, Kjeld has also published a series of scientific articles regarding steel constructions for both Danish and international magazines and congresses.  Kjeld is categorized as a diligent poet, a talent he unfolded when it was time to say goodbye to ISC. For his goodbye, Kjeld had written a poet counting 5 verse regarding the journey he has undertaken during his time in ISC. Besides Kjeld’s role as founder and CEO of ISC, Kjeld will be remembered for his lyric competencies and his many well-told stories and features performed at festive occasions at ISC.

Although Kjeld will continue as a member of the board of directors at ISC, but he is striving towards spending more time with his family and many grandkids. ISC wishes Kjeld good luck moving forward. Finally, ISC owes Kjeld a humble and grateful thank you for his many years leading the company.
