How we utilize the 3DEXPERIENCE platform for designing offshore substations

Since we designed the world’s first offshore substation, Nysted, in 2003, a lot has happened. Today we have projected more than 50 substations worldwide, and the capacity of these substations has increased almost ten times.

In late 2022 the world’s biggest offshore HVAC substation, Hornsea 2, became fully operational with a capacity of 1320 MW. We performed full detailed design of both the offshore substation and reactive compensation station.

When designing these substations, we utilize the 3DEXPERIENCE platform from Dassault Systèmes. In collaboration, we have made this video to showcase how the platform is helping us maintain our position as market leaders within offshore substations worldwide.
