The project is a solar energy system that produces renewable energy and fresh water for the sustainable operation of 200,000 m2 greenhouses.

The energy system is based on “concentrated solar energy” technology, where more than 51,500 m2 of mirrors collect and reflect solar rays up to the top of a 122 m high solar tower. The heat generated in the tower is used for several purposes – including heating the greenhouses, desalination of seawater for irrigation and electricity production.

Our task was to carry out construction calculations for the 122 m high solar tower, wind tunnel tests and reporting. The project was completed in July 2015 and construction will be completed for commissioning at the end of 2016.
